Meet Dr. Visanescu

Dr. Janet Visanescu (she is Dr. V to her patients) has practiced in Oldham County for over 25 years. Originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, she graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, then worked as an Intensive Care and Recovery nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center and Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She subsequently attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she received her doctorate.

Dr. Visanescu is a member of the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and Louisville Dental Society. She and her husband make their home in Oldham County. She has a daughter, Katherine and two school age granddaughters.

Thank you for visiting our site. Many of our neighbors here in Oldham County and surrounding areas have trusted us with their dental care for years and have referred their friends to us. We would like to introduce you to our office as well.

I had the good fortune to work as a registered nurse before I dreamed of becoming a dentist. That experience taught me whole-body medicine as well as the value of gentle care in difficult, life-threatening cases. I am aware that you may feel uneasy about going to the dentist. I do all I can to make our office environment and dental care as gentle and comfortable as possible.

Each member of your family deserves a great start in life with good dental health. We're ready to help, from teaching your child to care for his first teeth, to giving adolescents and adults the special care they need to correct damage caused by accidents, disease, and decay.

Our complete care starts with regular exams and preventive dentistry that help you maintain good dental heath and prevent costly problems. 

We offer restorations including crowns, fixed bridges and implant crowns, removable partials with invisible clasps, and customized, complete dentures.

We know that your appearance affects the way you feel about yourself. If there is something about your smile that you would like to improve, we can show you the available options, from teeth whitening to porcelain crowns and veneers.

I believe in treating you just as I would like to be treated. There is always time to talk and answer all your questions. I believe that you should never feel hurried or pressured.

We try to take care of problems before they become difficult and expensive. That prevents most emergencies from happening. However, should there be an emergency, our patients know they can reach me after hours.

For your convenience we accept major insurance plans, and we file your insurance for you. Our staff will be happy to review your coverage with you and help you get the maximum reimbursement. If you need treatment, we work with you to optimize your insurance coverage by scheduling dental work before your annual benefits expire.
